Nepal Telecom’s net profit declines by 16.44% compared to previous fiscal year

KATHMANDU: Nepal Telecom has reported a decline in its net profit for the last fiscal year compared to the same period the previous year. As of the end of the last fiscal year, the company recorded a net profit of NPR 6.61 billion. This figure represents a 16.44% decrease from the NPR 7.92 billion net profit reported in the previous fiscal year.

The reduction in net profit is primarily attributed to a decline in the company’s revenue. During the review period, Nepal Telecom’s revenue decreased by 4.99%, and its financial income dropped by 16.68%. Overall, the company’s total income saw a 6.32% decline during the same period.

Alongside the decrease in profit, the company also witnessed a reduction in its earnings per share (EPS). During the review period, EPS fell by NPR 7.24, bringing it down to NPR 36.77.

As of the end of the fiscal year, Nepal Telecom’s net worth per share stood at NPR 525.43, with a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 22.98 times.

The company, which has a paid-up capital of NPR 18 billion, has accumulated NPR 76.57 billion in its reserve fund.
