KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives has approved the Finance Bill, 2081, following a majority vote in favor of Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun’s motion during the parliamentary session on Sunday.
Parliamentarians Prem Suwal, Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, Dilendra Prasad Badu, and Kiran Kumar Sah engaged in a detailed discussion on the bill before the vote.
Addressing the questions raised during the discussion, Finance Minister Pun emphasized that the proposed changes in the Finance Bill are designed to make tax laws more scientific, investment-friendly, and transparent. He highlighted the government’s commitment to fostering a more conducive environment for economic growth and development.
Earlier in the session, the majority of parliamentarians rejected the amendments proposed by MPs Suwal and Mahat.
The approval of the Finance Bill marks a significant step in the government’s fiscal policy and economic reform agenda for the fiscal year 2081.
