KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari has said that the economy is improving.
At a program organized today in Kathmandu on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the Society of Economic Journalists Nepal (SEJON), he said that the foreign exchange reserves are increasing and the problem is being solved gradually.
He said that the central bank is open for market reform and that the private sector should not be suspicious of this. “We are open to solving problems”, he said, “If there are any problems, we are open to solving them.”
Governor Adhikari said that last year there was a balance of payment deficit of Rs 88 billion, but this year there is a surplus of Rs 6 billion.
