CIAA file corruption case against suspended executive director of Security Printing Center

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has file a corruption case against Bikal Paudel, the suspended executive director of Nepal’s Security Printing Center, on the grounds of allegedly obtaining his position through deceit.

Paudel is accused of falsely acquiring the role of executive director of the Security Printing Center after obtaining permanent residency (PR) in the United States. A CIAA source revealed that the commission has resolved to bring forth the corruption case against Paudel at the Special Court.

This move comes amidst ongoing investigations into Paudel’s alleged involvement in irregularities at the Security Printing Center, with a previous corruption case against him already pending at the Special Court. Additionally, Paudel faces accusations of illegal wealth acquisition, for which he was previously arrested.

The forthcoming case signals a further step in the legal proceedings against Paudel, underscoring the commitment of the CIAA to combat corruption and uphold integrity within public offices. As the investigation unfolds, the outcome of the case at the Special Court will be closely monitored.
