KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index today gained 25.71 points to close at 2,657.61 points, the highest closing ever in the history of Nepse.
The index opened at 2,658.30 and shortly made the intraday low at 2,646.59. The index went as high as 2,658.55 but finally closed at 2,657.61. 18,173,378 shares traded hands via 89,860 transactions.
The trading of 212 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs 9 billion. This is higher than last week’s turnover of Rs 7.25 billion. The total volume today is the highest of the intraday volume of the last month.
