KATHMANDU: The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has announced that the issues with the electronic driving license (eDL) system have been resolved. The system had experienced technical problems over the past few days, but the DoTM’s technical team worked diligently through the night to rectify the issue.
Ishwari Datta Paneru, the information officer at the DoTM, confirmed that the eDL system is now functioning normally. Additionally, the department is addressing issues related to the Electronic Vehicle Registration System (EVRS), ensuring that both critical transportation management systems are operational.
The recent disruptions in the DoTM’s server impacted various electronic license processes, including online applications and printing services. These processes are managed by Madras Security Printers of India. According to the DoTM, the problems were attributed to incomplete systems and delays in maintenance and updates.
The resolution of these issues is expected to streamline the electronic driving license and vehicle registration processes, providing much-needed convenience to the public.
