KATHMANDU: Bhagirathi Bhattarai Gyawali has been appointed as the independent/female director and Surendra Raj Regmi as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Global IME Bank.
The bank’s board of directors made the decision to appoint Gyawali as a director and Regmi as the CEO during a meeting held on Thursday.
Gyawali, who holds a master’s degree in Public Administration and Economics from Tribhuvan University, has been involved in teaching and various organizations for a long time.
Similarly, the committee appointed Senior Deputy CEO Regmi as the CEO, effective from August 17, 2024 (Bhadra 1, 2081 B.S.).
With over three decades of experience in the banking sector, Regmi joined Global IME Bank as a Deputy Manager in 2008 (2065 B.S.).
Regmi holds an MA in Economics from Tribhuvan University and an MBA from the University of Wales, UK.
Regmi is known as an excellent banker, having worked in credit management, risk and control, banking operations, risk management, compliance, branch operations, general administration, merger management, and overall banking supervision at Global IME Bank.
