Vehicular Movement Resumes in Kaligandaki Corridor After Two-Week Blockage

KATHMANDU: Vehicular movement in the Kaligandaki corridor has resumed today after being blocked for the past two weeks due to a landslide.

Traffic along the road had been obstructed since July 5 following a landslide at Dablyang in Baglung Municipality-10. A section of the road was swept away, completely halting vehicular movement in the Kaligandaki corridor, one of Nepal’s national pride projects.

The District Police Office in Baglung reported that the Kaligandaki Corridor Office constructed a gabion to repair the damaged road section, facilitating the resumption of traffic.

Vehicles traveling to and from Baglung, Butwal, Bhairahawa, and Muktinath had been off the road for two weeks due to the obstruction. The reopening of the corridor is expected to significantly ease transportation and connectivity for the region.
