KATHMANDU: The Department of Drug Administration (DDA) has issued a directive to ban the sale and distribution of two more brands of sanitizer being produced by two companies citing that the products were of poor quality. The DDA has asked the companies to immediately withdraw the brands from the market.
Issuing a notice today, the department banned Safe Hand 200 ml and Hand Rub Instant Hand Sanitizer stating that they did not meet the quality standard set by the authority. The DDA had conducted a test of the aforementioned brands.
Prior to this also, DDA had prohibited five sanitizer brands in the market. The DDA has urged everyone to wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water on a regular basis and in case soap and water are not available, it has recommended the use of hand sanitizer.
