KATHMANDU: Satya Mohan Joshi, the pinnacle of Nepali language, literature, and culture who received the Madan Award three times, died at the age of 103 at 7:09 am in KIST Medical College Hospital at Gwarko, Lalitpur this morning. Centenarian cultural expert Satya Mohan Joshi passed away on Sunday at the age of 103.
He breathed his last during the course of treatment at the Kist Medical College in Imadole, Lalitpur this morning.
Joshi was suffering from a urine infection, and chest and heart issues. He was also infected with dengue of late. He was admitted to the hospital on September 23.
He was the kind of person who touched everyone with his art. His immortal works, “Hamro Lok Sanskriti” in 1956, “Nepali Rashtriya Mudra” in 1960, and “Karnali Lok Sanskriti” in 1971 received the Madan Puraskar. He was once a journalist affiliated with the National News Committee and China Radio.
