Siddharth Riverside Resort in Chitwan upgrading to Four-Star Luxury

KATHMANDU: Siddharth Hospitality, under the Siddharth Group, has announced an ambitious upgrade of its Siddharth Riverside Resort in Chumlingtar, Chitwan, transforming it into a luxurious four-star destination. The resort, currently operating under the Siddharth Batika brand, is set to transition to the premium Siddharth Baibhav brand, with renovations nearing completion.
Kiran Rimal, a board member of Siddharth Hospitality and cluster manager for the region, shared that the upgrade is on track for completion by the end of June 2025. “The renovation work is in its final stages, and we are working diligently to meet our deadline,” Rimal said. The revamped resort will elevate its offerings to meet four-star standards, catering to a growing influx of tourists and corporate clients traveling through Nepal’s key destinations like Pokhara, Bandipur, and Manakamana Temple.
The upgrade will significantly expand the resort’s capacity and amenities. From its current 26 rooms and 56 beds, the resort will boast 64 rooms and 99 beds post-renovation. A highlight is the addition of a Presidential Room featuring indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis, designed for an indulgent guest experience. The resort will also introduce 425-square-foot Grand Deluxe Rooms equipped with bathtubs and other premium amenities. For families, new water-based play infrastructure for children and a mini futsal field have been constructed, ensuring a fun-filled stay for all ages.
Cultural and culinary experiences are also at the forefront of the upgrade. A new 80-seat deck restaurant, offering serene views of the Trishuli River and its soothing water sounds, will promote authentic Nepali cuisine and cultural heritage. Guests can enjoy a tranquil dining experience in a picturesque setting. Additionally, a 300-person capacity banquet hall will be added, tripling the current 100-person hall’s capacity to accommodate larger events and corporate gatherings. A 100-seat all-day dining area will further enhance the resort’s dining options.
The resort is set to become a vibrant recreational hub with a spacious garden, a swimming pool, a dedicated sports field, and an on-site grocery shop for guest convenience. To celebrate local heritage, cultural dance performances showcasing Gurung and Magar traditions will be held every Friday, adding a unique touch to the guest experience. For travelers along the highway, a separate restaurant and electric vehicle charging stations have been introduced, catering to modern needs.
The upgrade is strategically timed to capitalize on the region’s tourism potential. Rimal noted that the upcoming Super Trishuli Hydropower Project, with its dam site near the resort, is expected to boost local tourism. “Post-upgrade, we will offer tailored packages for tourists visiting Pokhara, Manakamana Temple, and Bandipur, which will significantly contribute to regional tourism promotion,” he said. These packages aim to attract both domestic and international visitors exploring Nepal’s cultural and natural landmarks.
Currently employing 60 staff, the resort will create additional jobs, with the workforce expanding to 85 upon completion of the upgrade. This increase underscores Siddharth Hospitality’s commitment to local economic development. The group, which operates over 30 outlets nationwide under various brands, is a leader in Nepal’s hospitality sector. Its portfolio includes the five-star Siddharth Vilasa, four-star Siddharth Vaibhav, three-star Siddharth Batika, Siddharth Cottage, and S-Cafe brands, reflecting its diverse offerings across the country.
The transformation of Siddharth Riverside Resort aligns with Chitwan’s growing prominence as a tourism hub. By blending modern amenities with Nepal’s rich cultural heritage, the resort is poised to become a premier destination for travelers seeking luxury, relaxation, and authentic experiences. As the June 2025 deadline approaches, anticipation is building for the unveiling of this revitalized four-star retreat along the scenic banks of the Trishuli River.
