Genese Solution and AWS host seminar on mastering data and generative AI

KATHMANDU: Genese Solution, a premier IT consulting and cybersecurity firm, partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to host an engaging seminar titled Mastering Data and Generative AI, bringing together over 130 tech enthusiasts from industry and academia to explore the transformative potential of generative artificial intelligence (AI).
Bhaubai Bal, Solutions Architect at AWS, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the critical role of clean data, robust analytics, and seamless integration in developing impactful generative AI solutions. “Guardrails are essential to ensure safe and ethical use of generative AI,” Bal stated, underscoring the importance of responsible AI practices and security.
He introduced AWS’s powerful generative AI toolsets, including Amazon Bedrock, which enables access to leading foundation models for training, fine-tuning, and building retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions. Bal also highlighted how generative AI integrates with AWS services like Amazon QuickSight and Amazon Connect to deliver enhanced value.
The event featured hands-on sessions, guiding participants through setting up Amazon Bedrock and configuring Jupyter Notebooks in Amazon SageMaker Studio. Attendees explored AI models in real-time, with labs focusing on text generation and image creation. Pre-configured materials were provided for self-paced learning, enabling participants to continue their exploration post-event.
A dedicated hands-on lab on prompt engineering using the Amazon Bedrock Playground covered advanced techniques such as chain-of-thought prompting, temperature tuning, and parameter control. Participants experimented with practical use cases, including text summarization, code generation, and entity extraction via Jupyter Notebooks, and were encouraged to further refine their prompt engineering skills.
Anjani Phuyal, CEO of Genese Solution and Global Ambassador for Amazon, shared an inspiring personal story, tracing his journey from rural Nepal to global tech leadership. Highlighting technology as a “great equalizer,” Phuyal emphasized Nepal’s potential to emerge as a global tech hub. He urged young professionals to embrace cutting-edge technologies like generative AI, cloud computing, and quantum computing, stating, “Education and technology can transform lives and empower Nepali talent to make a global impact.”
Akash Ninave, another Solutions Architect at AWS, delivered presentations on key topics, including prompt engineering, text generation, model customization, and multimodal image generation, enriching the technical depth of the seminar.
The event underscored the growing importance of generative AI and data mastery in driving innovation, with participants gaining practical skills and insights to leverage these technologies. Genese Solution and AWS reaffirmed their commitment to fostering Nepal’s tech ecosystem through such initiatives.
