WordCamp Nepal 2025 concludes on a high note in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: WordCamp Nepal 2025 wrapped up yesterday, April 5, at Kundalini Durbar in Chandol, Kathmandu, marking a triumphant close to a two-day celebration of WordPress innovation and community spirit. The event, held on April 4 and 5, drew over 650 attendees, including developers, designers, and enthusiasts from Nepal and beyond, and was hailed as a resounding success by organizers and participants alike.
The first day, Contributor Day on April 4, ran from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, focusing on giving back to the WordPress ecosystem. Attendees collaborated in team-led sessions starting at 10:00 AM, contributing to core development, plugin reviews, and translations. A lunch break at 1:00 PM fueled the momentum, culminating in a 4:30 PM wrap-up discussion where participants shared their impactful contributions. “It was inspiring to see so many people come together to strengthen WordPress,” said attendee Suman Thapa, a local developer. “I learned so much and felt part of something global.”
Day two, Conference Day on April 5, kicked off at 8:30 AM with an opening ceremony, followed by two parallel tracks of 16 sessions and three workshops until 6:00 PM. Highlights included a technical tutorial on Gutenberg block optimization at 11:00 AM, a digital marketing strategy session at 2:00 PM, and a hands-on workshop on AI integration with WordPress at 3:30 PM. The day concluded with a 5:30 PM closing ceremony and an after-party. “The sessions were top-notch—practical and engaging,” said Priya Sharma, a content creator. “The AI workshop opened my eyes to new possibilities.”
Lead organizer Surendra Shrestha declared the event a triumph: “These two days showcased the best of our community—collaboration, learning, and passion. We’re thrilled with the turnout and feedback.” Participants echoed this sentiment, with international attendee John Carter calling it “a perfect blend of knowledge and networking.” The event’s success, bolstered by sponsor stalls and a lively photo contest, has set a high bar for future WordCamps in Nepal, leaving attendees buzzing with excitement and renewed enthusiasm for WordPress.
