KATHMANDU: The construction work of the Pathibhara Cable Car has been temporarily halted. An agreement to suspend the construction was reached between the negotiation committee formed by the government and the protesting related organizations. As per the agreement, the protest activities will also be put on hold.
The six-point agreement was signed by Home Ministry Joint Secretary Prem Prasad Bhattarai on behalf of the government and Saraswati Singak on behalf of the negotiation facilitation committee.
According to the agreement, the construction work above the cable car station will be halted, and a detailed discussion regarding the station will take place during the negotiations on Magh 27 (February 10).
It has also been agreed that the injured will receive free and effective medical treatment. Additionally, both parties have agreed to investigate the incident that occurred on Magh 12 (January 26) and take legal action against those found guilty.
The agreement also includes the initiation of the process for the immediate release of those detained during the protest. Furthermore, the protestors have agreed to suspend the transportation shutdown program.
As per the agreement, a detailed discussion between both parties will be held on Magh 27 (February 10).
