Tech Journos Forum (TJF) and Huawei Nepal has successfully concluded the “Future Connect Summit 2025” in Kathmandu. The summit, held under the theme “Driving a Greener Digital Future,” brought together leading technology journalists from Nepal as well as officials from Huawei Nepal.
During the event, discussions focused on Nepal’s digital development potential, the latest global technological trends, and the development of green technologies.
Lin hai, President of Public Relation South Asia Regional Office, expressed his happiness at collaborating with Nepali technology journalists. He stated that Huawei was proud to work with TJF to elevate Nepal’s technology sector and expressed a commitment to organizing similar events in the future. He also emphasized Huawei’s commitment to ensuring the benefits of technology reach all sections of society, adding that the company was ready to collaborate with TJF on various topics and contribute to Nepal’s technology journalism.
Ashit Adhikari, Corporate Affairs Manager at Huawei Nepal, shared insights into the company’s global impact through technology. He mentioned that Huawei operates in more than 170 countries and has employed over 207,000 people worldwide. He emphasized that Huawei’s goal is not only to contribute to business but also to social and institutional responsibility. He added that Huawei has been continuously serving Nepal for the past 25 years, helping drive social and economic transformation.
Umesh Paudel, President of TJF, highlighted that events like this help expand the scope of technology journalism in Nepal. He pointed out the significant gaps in understanding technology in the country and stressed that such programs contribute to making the sector more active and effective. He also mentioned that TJF is committed to continuing such programs to strengthen technology journalism and to focus on emerging topics like AI, cybersecurity, and 5G.
At the summit, Solution Responsible for Huawei Nepal, Prabhat Regmi, presented on the impact and potential of 5G technology globally. He explained that 5G provides high-speed services with low latency, enabling revolutionary changes across various industries, including healthcare and education. Regmi also expressed confidence that the expansion of 5G in Nepal would accelerate sustainable digital development and contribute significantly to Nepal’s Digital Nepal Framework.
James Zhang, Director of Huawei’s Business Power and Business Environment Department, discussed the company’s focus on environmentally friendly solutions through the increased use of renewable energy sources like solar power. He highlighted the potential of solar energy in Nepal due to its geographic diversity and the important role Huawei’s technology could play in this sector.
