Ncell becomes the title sponsor of Lumbini Lions

KATHMANDU: Lumbini Lions, a team competing in the Nepal Premier League (NPL), has announced Ncell as its title sponsor. The official announcement was made at an event held today at the Hilton Kathmandu. Prominent figures such as actor and Lumbini Lions brand ambassador Rajesh Hamal, team captain Rohit Paudel, British cricketer Tom Moores, and other international players attended the event.

During the program, a sponsorship agreement was signed between Lumbini Lions President Ishwar G.C. and Ncell’s CEO and Managing Director, Jabbor Kayumov. The Lumbini Lions also unveiled their team jersey for the upcoming season.

Speaking at the event, Ishwar G.C. expressed gratitude towards Ncell, describing the collaboration as a significant step for the team and Nepali cricket. He highlighted the importance of Ncell’s support in strengthening the team and advancing cricket in Nepal. Ncell’s CEO, Jabbor Kayumov, echoed these sentiments, stating that the partnership aligns with their commitment to supporting Nepali cricket and youth empowerment.

Ncell Foundation also announced a social initiative linked to the league, pledging to donate four educational kits to students in rural areas for every boundary hit during the tournament. This gesture is expected to positively impact community development while promoting cricket.

The Nepal Premier League, which began yesterday, features eight teams and will continue until December 21 at the T.U. International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. Lumbini Lions will play their first match on Wednesday. The league, with its scale and competitive spirit, is anticipated to be a major highlight for cricket enthusiasts across the country.
