KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has ruled in favor of Genese Solution, a UK-based IT consulting company, in an electronic transactions case filed by the Sundar Group of Companies over two years ago. Sundar Group had accused Genese Solution of violating the Electronic Transactions Act 2008, alleging misconduct in their business practices. However, a single bench of Judge Khimanand Bhusal on Tuesday declared that there was insufficient evidence to support these claims.
The court’s official stated that the full text of the decision would be made public in a few weeks. Founder and CEO of Genese Solution, Anjani Phuyal, expressed satisfaction with the verdict, stating it affirmed the company’s innocence and highlighted the case’s baseless nature. “We are a globally respected company, operating in ten countries, dedicated to providing top-tier services while ensuring the highest data protection standards,” Phuyal said.
Genese Solution is one of the few IT consulting firms in Nepal certified to the ISO 27001:2022 international standard for information security management. The company focuses on empowering organizations across industries through cost-effective digital transformation services. Furthermore, it actively promotes gender inclusivity by supporting initiatives like the Shequal Foundation and Girls-in-Tech, and collaborates with major tech firms such as AWS Academy and Microsoft Academy to advance tech education in Nepalese universities.
Phuyal also emphasized Genese Solution’s role in positioning Nepal as an emerging tech hub through collaborations with Nepali embassies and participation in global tech events. “Nepal has a talented pool capable of delivering world-class ICT services in the competitive global market,” he noted.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Genese Solution supported Nepali businesses and educational institutions by partnering with Zoom to facilitate continued service delivery. Headquartered in the United Kingdom, Genese Solution now operates in ten countries, including Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Finland, Australia, Nigeria, Spain, Ireland, and the United States, assisting organizations globally in optimizing IT operations, managing costs, and ensuring effective IT risk management.
This legal win solidifies Genese Solution’s commitment to integrity and reinforces its reputation as a reliable partner in digital transformation, both in Nepal and on the global stage.
