KATHMANDU: Flights on Friday have been affected due to bad weather and low visibility. Flights to the western regions, including Dhangadhi, Nepalgunj, and Bhairahawa, as well as to the eastern destinations of Simra and Janakpur, are operational, while flights to other destinations have been canceled. All mountain flights scheduled for Friday have been canceled.
Due to rainfall and low visibility, airports in Bhadrapur, Pokhara, Bharatpur, Biratnagar, Tumlingtar, and Surkhet are closed. The closure of these airports has led to an increased crowd of passengers at Tribhuvan International Airport, according to airport officials.
According to the airport office, mountain flights have been halted today. While flights may resume once the weather improves, all flights except for mountain flights are currently delayed, the airport office stated.
Currently, Yeti, Buddha, and Simrik airlines operate flights to urban area airports from Kathmandu, while Tara and Summit airlines primarily fly to remote areas.
