KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel held a courtesy meeting with Rupa Duttagupta, the Deputy Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for the Asia Pacific Region, at the Ministry of Finance on Sunday.
During the meeting, Duttagupta expressed optimism about Nepal’s economic progress. She noted that the country’s economy is on an upward trajectory, with significant improvements being observed.
According to Finance Minister Paudel’s Secretariat, Duttagupta also praised recent reforms in investment facilitation laws, the execution of Nepal’s revenue mobilization strategy, and the implementation of various economic recommendations.
DPM Paudel, in response, highlighted that the government is working in a planned manner to strengthen and consolidate the national economy, with a focus on long-term stability and growth. Both sides exchanged views on Nepal’s ongoing economic reforms and future strategies for sustained progress.
