Zoom Roadshow showcases latest innovations for the future of work

KATHMANDU: Genese Solution, a UK-based IT consulting firm, in collaboration with Zoom, a global leader in virtual communication and collaboration technology, hosted a seminar focusing on modernizing workplaces and the future of work. The event, which brought together industry leaders, professionals, and tech enthusiasts, highlighted innovations aimed at enhancing collaboration, operational efficiency, and employee engagement in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The event commenced with an exclusive preview of Zoom’s latest features, designed to revolutionize virtual collaboration. Swati Agarwal, Zoom’s Sales Lead for the mid-market segment, shared insights into how industries are utilizing Zoom’s advanced video conferencing, virtual whiteboards, integrated AI technology, and productivity app integration to empower teams to work from anywhere.

Participants were treated to an immersive virtual demo led by Zoom product experts, showcasing innovations like Workvivo, aimed at boosting employee engagement, and MultiCaas, a next-generation contact center solution, with real-life demonstrations of these tools in action.

One of the key highlights of the seminar was a Fireside Chat, where representatives from various Nepali industries shared their experiences of adopting Zoom for virtual collaboration. Er. Rabindra Shrestha, Deputy Director at the Nepal Insurance Authority, praised Zoom for transforming the process of training and certifying insurance agents. He shared impressive statistics, noting that while the Authority developed 300,000 agents over 50 years, the integration of Zoom has helped them certify 50,000 agents in just 10 months, with up to 10,000 agents trained in a single month.

Anit Jung Pandey, Chief Financial Officer at NIC Asia Laghubitta, highlighted how Zoom has streamlined operations across 74 districts in Nepal. He emphasized that Zoom’s virtual collaboration tools have eliminated the need for stakeholders to travel to Kathmandu, saving time and reducing logistical burdens. Meetings, training sessions, and shareholder engagements are now conducted seamlessly via Zoom, allowing for greater convenience and efficiency.

Subin Adhikari, Program Communication Officer at Leprosy Mission Nepal, spoke about the benefits of Zoom in managing hundreds of field workers across Nepal. He emphasized the value of high-quality video conferencing when collaborating with hospitals and healthcare experts, especially in highly sensitive scenarios.

Meanwhile, Prakriya Lama, an HR professional at Midas Technology, discussed the challenges of managing a diverse workforce, from those with limited exposure to technology to highly tech-savvy employees. She praised Zoom’s seamless integration with other virtual collaboration tools such as Microsoft, Google, and Zoho, which saves time and avoids the hassle of familiarizing staff with multiple platforms.

Addressing the seminar virtually from London, Anjani Phuyal, Founder and CEO of Genese Solution, remarked on Zoom’s global vision and its recognition of Nepal as a growing market with significant potential. “One of the biggest challenges we face today is access to information and technology. During the pandemic, Zoom became a crucial alternative for sectors like education, health, and government, where basic infrastructure was lacking. As Zoom’s reseller in Nepal, we continue to support the digital transformation journey of over 400 organizations,” Phuyal stated.

The Zoom Roadshow provided attendees with valuable insights into global trends in workforce management and technology, offering a glimpse into the future of work and collaboration as businesses increasingly adopt digital tools to enhance productivity.
