Ministry Establishes Probe Committee Over Nepali Migrant Workers’ Selection for Israel

KATHMANDU: In response to growing concerns over the selection process of Nepali migrant laborers heading to Israel, the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security has formed a probe committee to ensure the process’s integrity. This action comes amidst public skepticism regarding the authenticity of documents submitted by applicants during the selection phase.

Israel is preparing to receive Nepali workers in the caregiver sector, a significant opportunity for Nepal’s labor force. However, concerns have been raised about the transparency and fairness of the selection process. To address these issues, the ministry has appointed a five-member committee, led by Under Secretary Meghnath Rimal, to scrutinize the authenticity of the submitted documents.

The ministry emphasized that the probe committee will work to ensure that only genuine candidates, whose documents meet all the required criteria, are selected for this crucial employment opportunity. The move aims to restore public confidence in the selection process and maintain the integrity of Nepal’s labor export system.

This development underscores the government’s commitment to safeguarding the rights and interests of Nepali migrant workers, ensuring they are provided with legitimate and secure employment opportunities abroad. The committee’s findings and recommendations will be crucial in shaping future selection processes and preventing potential irregularities.
