NEB announces class 12 results: 52% pass rate and significant NG status revealed

KATHMANDU: The National Examination Board (NEB) has announced the results of Class 12 today, bringing crucial updates to the education sector in Nepal. The board stated that the results were made public immediately after the conclusion of the board meeting.

Examination Details
The exams, which began on April 26, saw participation from a total of 390,847 students. This included 196,914 female students and 193,933 male students in the regular category. Additionally, 10,650 students took part in the grade improvement category. The exams were conducted across 1,526 centers in all 77 districts of Nepal and one center in Japan. Students from 5,542 schools across the country participated in the Class 12 exams.

Results Overview
In the Class 12 results, 187,021 students received a Non-Grading (NG) status, indicating a significant number of students who did not meet the passing criteria. Out of the 390,868 students who participated in the exams in the regular category, 187,021 students failed.

Pass Rate and GPA Achievements
The results revealed that 52 percent of the students, or 203,847 individuals, passed the exams. Conversely, 48 percent of the students received an NG status. Notably, 9,591 students achieved a GPA between 3.61 and 4, demonstrating high academic performance. However, the exams of 102 students were canceled due to various reasons.
