Nepal Oil Corporation reduces petroleum prices

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced a reduction in the prices of petroleum products, effective from Thursday. According to a press release issued on Wednesday, the price of petrol has been decreased by Rs 1 per litre, while diesel and kerosene oil prices have been reduced by Rs 2 per litre. The price of aviation fuel remains unchanged.

With this adjustment, the price of petrol now stands at Rs 167 per litre, and diesel and kerosene oil are priced at Rs 155 per litre in the regions of Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amalekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj.

In the districts of Surkhet and Dang, the new prices for petrol are Rs 169 per litre, and diesel and kerosene oil are Rs 157 per litre.

For Pokhara, Kathmandu, and Dipayal, petrol will now cost Rs 170 per litre, and diesel and kerosene oil will be available at Rs 158 per litre.

This price adjustment by the NOC aims to provide relief to consumers amid fluctuating global oil prices. The reduction in fuel prices is expected to positively impact the cost of transportation and goods, contributing to economic stability in Nepal.
