KATHMANDU: Malaysia Airlines flight MH114, traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Kathmandu, Nepal, declared an emergency before safely landing in Yangon, Myanmar. The incident has raised concerns but fortunately resulted in a safe outcome.

Flight MH114, carrying the registration number 9M-MXQ, departed from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at around 8:49 PM local time on Saturday. En route to Kathmandu, the aircraft reportedly encountered an issue that necessitated an emergency declaration. Aviation Source News reported that the aircraft deviated from its original flight path off the coast of Myanmar, turning north towards Yangon, where it began a controlled descent.

The aviation news website noted, “Off the coast of Myanmar, the aircraft deviated in a track north towards the diversion field, and proceeded to descend.” Despite the unexpected turn of events, the flight landed safely at Yangon International Airport, avoiding any immediate danger to the passengers and crew.
