NOC Halts Petroleum Sales on July 16 for ERP System Update

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced that petroleum products from its depots will not be sold or distributed on July 16 due to the closure of the billing system for data updates in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system as the new fiscal year begins.

Manoj Kumar Thakur, Deputy Director of the NOC, confirmed that the billing system will be closed on July 16. “We need to close the billing system temporarily to update data in the ERP system,” Thakur explained. Despite this closure, he assured that there would be no issues with the distribution of petroleum products.

Thakur further clarified that there is no public holiday on July 17, allowing entrepreneurs to collect petroleum products starting that day. “Problems can arise only when there are frequent holidays, but this time, there won’t be any such issues,” he said.

To mitigate any potential disruptions, Thakur encouraged entrepreneurs to collect more petroleum products than usual on July 15. This measure aims to ensure a smooth transition and avoid any shortages on July 17 when regular distribution resumes.

The NOC’s decision is part of its routine operations to ensure the efficient and accurate updating of its ERP system, crucial for maintaining streamlined and effective service delivery in the new fiscal year.
