Heavy Rain Forecast Across the Country for Next Three Days

KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has announced that heavy rain is expected across most parts of the country for the next three days due to the influence of monsoon winds. The MFD has advised taking necessary precautions as heavy rains are anticipated in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces during this period.

Today’s Weather:

Afternoon: The country is expected to be generally to completely cloudy, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thundershowers and lightning likely in many areas. Heavy rain is anticipated in parts of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in one or two locations in Koshi and Madhesh provinces. Very heavy rain is expected in one or two places in Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

Night: The country will remain generally to completely cloudy, with light to moderate rain and thunder/lightning expected in many areas. Heavy rain is possible in several provinces, with very heavy rain likely in one or two places in Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.

Wednesday’s Weather:

Afternoon: The weather will continue to be generally to completely cloudy, with light to moderate rain and thunder/lightning expected in many areas. Heavy rain is anticipated in some locations in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and one or two places in Karnali province. Very heavy rainfall is possible in one or two places in Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini regions.

Night: Similar conditions will prevail, with general to complete cloud cover and light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning in some areas. Heavy rain is possible in a few places in Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Thursday’s Weather:

Afternoon: The country will again be generally cloudy, with light to moderate rain and thunder/lightning expected in many areas. Heavy rain is likely in some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and in one or two places in other provinces. Very heavy rain is possible in one or two places in Koshi and Lumbini regions.

Night: General to complete cloud cover will persist, with light to moderate rain and thundershowers/lightning likely in many areas. Heavy rain is possible in a few places across all provinces.
