KATHMANDU: Shree Airlines has added a new 80-seater De Havilland Canada Q400 Dash 8 to its fleet, enhancing its capacity and service offerings. The newly acquired aircraft, with the call sign 9N AOM, was previously operated by Horizon Air and Alaska Air in the United States.
The Q400 Dash 8, renowned for its reliability, soundproofing, and high comfort, is powered by a robust 5400-shaft-horsepower PW150A engine from Pratt & Whitney Canada. Shree Airlines emphasized the aircraft’s advanced features, which are expected to provide passengers with a superior travel experience.
A skilled Shree Airlines pilot successfully navigated the multi-stop international delivery flight, arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport at 1:00 AM today. The journey commenced in Portland, Oregon, and included stops in Duluth, Minnesota; Goose Bay, Canada; Keflavík, Iceland; Prague, Czech Republic; Cairo, Egypt; and Muscat, Oman. The entire voyage from Portland to Kathmandu spanned 33 hours.
With the addition of this new aircraft, Shree Airlines now operates a fleet of 10 aircraft, including CRJ 200/700 and Q400 Dash 8 models. The airline provides flight services from Kathmandu to various destinations, including Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, Pokhara, and Surkhet.
This expansion signifies Shree Airlines’ commitment to enhancing its fleet capabilities and improving the overall passenger experience, ensuring reliable and comfortable travel across Nepal.
