KATHMANDU: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced a reduction in the prices of petroleum products effective from Sunday. Following a decision by the NOC Board of Directors, the price of petrol has been decreased by Rs 3 per litre, while the prices of diesel and kerosene have been reduced by Rs 1 per litre.
With the new pricing, petrol will now cost Rs 162.5 per litre in Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj. In Surkhet and Dang, the price is set at Rs 164 per litre, while in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal, petrol will be sold at Rs 165 per litre.
The price of diesel and kerosene has been adjusted to Rs 149.5 per litre in Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj. In Surkhet and Dang, these fuels will cost Rs 151 per litre, and in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal, the new price is Rs 152 per litre.
The NOC’s decision to reduce prices comes as a relief to consumers, providing some respite amidst the fluctuating global oil market. The revised rates will be effective from Sunday, ensuring nationwide uniformity in petroleum pricing.
