KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank Limited and Badi Malika Municipality have signed an agreement to facilitate loans in a simple and convenient manner for entrepreneurs within the municipality aiming for entrepreneurship, self-reliance, and job creation.
The agreement was signed by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Global IME Bank, Suman Pokharel, and the Mayor of Badi Malika Municipality, Amar Bahadur Khadka.
According to the agreement, the bank will provide easy loan access to urban residents aspiring to become self-employed in various sectors such as farming, agricultural entrepreneurship, agricultural farms, and agricultural employment. The loans aim to promote entrepreneurship, self-reliance, and job creation within the municipality.
Global IME Bank has taken the initiative to provide banking services at the grassroots level through its branch network in various districts, making it the first commercial bank in the private sector to establish branches in 354 locations, along with 379 ATMs, 277 branchless banking services, 68 extensions, revenue collection counters, and three foreign representative offices, serving over 1.10 million customers.
Global IME Bank, as a bank providing banking services to all, has been contributing significantly to the country’s economy by facilitating remittances from countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, India, Jordan, and Hong Kong, among others.
