KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced a revision in the prices of petroleum products, effective from Tuesday morning. The adjustments come in response to changes in the purchase prices received from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).
In a press release issued on Monday, NOC stated that the prices of petrol, diesel, and kerosene have been increased by Rs 3 per liter. This decision reflects the recent hike in the purchase price of petroleum products from India.
According to NOC reports, the price of petrol imported from India has risen by Rs 2.96 per liter, while diesel sees a slightly higher increase of Rs 3.46 per liter.
Following the adjustment, the revised prices of petrol in various regions have been categorized accordingly:
In Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj areas, the price per liter of petrol has been revised from Rs 172.50 to Rs 175.50.
In Surkhet and Dang areas, the price per liter of petrol has increased from Rs 174.50 to Rs 177.
In Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal areas, the price per liter of petrol has been adjusted from Rs 175 to Rs 178.
Meanwhile, the prices of diesel and kerosene remain unchanged at Rs 158 and Rs 160 per liter respectively, in most areas. However, in certain regions, the price of kerosene has been adjusted to Rs 161 per liter.
This price adjustment reflects the volatile nature of global oil markets and underscores the impact of external factors on domestic fuel prices. As consumers adapt to these changes, NOC continues its efforts to ensure a stable and sustainable supply of petroleum products across Nepal.
