KATHMANDU: Nepal Telecom (NTC) has issued a crucial announcement urging its valued customers to promptly upgrade their landline telephone services from traditional copper wires to the modern fiber technology. The telecom giant has declared the discontinuation of services reliant on copper wires effective March 31.
The Telecommunication Office of NTC situated in Balambu has released directives mandating the upgrade of Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) services within its jurisdiction. In specific regions encompassing Thankot, Checkpost, Nepal Oil Corporation, Cable Car, Panighat, Banasthali, and Mahadevsthan, NTC has directed customers to transition from copper-based services to fiber technology.
