KATHMANDU: Today marks the long-awaited unveiling of the Minimum Common Programme (MCP) by the government for the upcoming fiscal year.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is set to reveal the MCP, a collaborative effort among power-sharing parties, from the office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, as confirmed by PM Prachanda’s Private Secretariat.
The MCP has been crafted through the combined efforts of key political leaders who meticulously examined its contents. The program has been developed by a task force representing various political entities, including the CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Centre), Rashtriya Swatantra Party, Janata Samajbadi Party, and CPN (Unified Socialist). Each party contributed two members to the task force, underscoring the inclusivity and collaborative spirit behind the MCP.
This unveiling comes at a crucial juncture as the government prepares to outline its priorities and policies for the fiscal year ahead. The MCP is expected to serve as a comprehensive roadmap, addressing key issues and laying down the groundwork for governance and development initiatives.
With the participation of diverse political factions in its formulation, the MCP aims to reflect a consensus-driven approach to governance, catering to the diverse needs and aspirations of the populace. As the curtains are drawn back on the MCP, anticipation is high regarding its potential impact on national policies and programs in the coming year.
