KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank Limited has commenced banking services without a physical branch in Deri Bazaar, Fidim Municipality Ward No. 12 of Panchthar district from Monday. This expansion brings the total number of branchless banking services by the bank to 275.
The inauguration of the branchless banking services was jointly conducted by Radhakrishna Nyaupane, Deputy Mayor of Fidim Municipality Ward No. 12, Kamal Prasad Chapagain, President of Ward No. 12, and Dillip Pokharel, Assistant CEO of the bank.
Through branchless banking services, residents of rural areas can access various banking services through local representatives. These services include opening savings accounts, depositing and withdrawing amounts up to a specified limit, inquiring about the balance in their accounts, paying off loans, and more.
Global IME Bank is the first private sector bank with a branchless network in the country, having a presence in all 77 districts. The bank operates 355 branch offices, 378 ATMs, 275 branchless banking service centers, 64 extensions, revenue collection counters, and 3 foreign representative offices, providing services to more than 1,100 service centers.
