KATHMANDU: In a unique celebration of its 17th anniversary, Global IME Bank Limited organized a nationwide wakathon, blending fitness and financial literacy, to enhance awareness about banking services among the general public. The bank’s commitment to social responsibility was evident as it simultaneously conducted programs in the major cities of all seven provinces, fostering financial education within local communities.
The wakathon kicked off on December 31st, marking the 17th year since the establishment of Global IME Bank. Chandraprasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and Chairman of Global IME Bank, joined members of the bank’s executive committee, along with over 1,500 employees, in the lively event held in Kathmandu.
Adorned with placards promoting financial literacy and banking education, bank employees engaged in a spirited parade, starting from the Kantipath branch office in Kathmandu and touring central areas of the city. Beyond the Kathmandu Valley, similar parades unfolded in major cities outside the valley, bringing the celebration to diverse communities.
Global IME Bank, a leading private sector bank in Nepal, operates branches in all 77 districts, totaling 355 branches nationwide. The bank provides a wide array of banking services, including 379 ATMs, 274 branchless banking services, 65 extensions, revenue collection counters, and maintains three international representative offices.
