KATHMANDU: On October 7, the Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) put into effect its Mobile Device Management System (MDMS).
The NTA released an official statement, heralding a significant development in the mobile device market. This innovative initiative is poised to bring about substantial advantages within the Nepali mobile device industry, enhancing transparency and regulation.
As per NTA officials, the most noteworthy impact of MDMS will be its substantial contribution to national income growth through the mobile device market. Moreover, this system will bolster security by recording and tracking International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) numbers.
Officials further emphasized that this system will also play a crucial role in combating mobile phone-related crimes by aiding in the recovery of stolen or lost mobile devices.
