KATHMANDU: The Nepali government has taken significant steps to facilitate labor migration and employment opportunities for its citizens abroad by approving bilateral labor agreements with Germany and Romania. The decision was made during a recent Council of Ministers meeting.
Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, confirmed that the cabinet has granted approval for the signing of labor agreements with these European nations. The Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Security has been entrusted with the responsibility of finalizing these agreements.
Minister Sharma further disclosed that a delegation led by Labour Minister Sharat Singh Bhandari will represent Nepal at the formal signing ceremony of the labor agreements with Germany and Romania.
Furthermore, the government has greenlit bilateral discussions and air service agreements between Nepal and Switzerland, as well as Nepal and Rwanda.
In an effort to strengthen diplomatic and international relations, the cabinet meeting has also established a bilateral consultation mechanism between the foreign ministries of Nepal and Malaysia. This initiative is aimed at fostering closer ties and cooperation between the two nations on the global stage.
