KATHMANDU: During the visit of Nepal’s Prime Minister to China, a comprehensive 13-point memorandum of understanding (MoU) was officially inked in Beijing. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Chinese Premier Li Qiang jointly signed and exchanged a total of 10 agreements and 3 MoUs in the presence of high-level officials from both Nepal and China.
Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, Nepal’s Ambassador to China, elucidated that these agreements and MoUs span various crucial sectors, encompassing agriculture, communication, science and technology, and trade.
In a collaborative effort, Shrestha and Chinese officials executed agreements aimed at enhancing productivity in Nepal’s northern region, fostering cooperation in the digital economy, promoting green and low-carbon initiatives, and facilitating the translation and publication of ancient texts.
Furthermore, Madhu Kumar Marasini, Secretary of Commerce and Supplies, along with Chinese counterparts, finalized an agreement pertaining to the establishment of a joint technical working group.
Education Secretary Suresh Adhikari joined Chinese officials to formally sign and exchange agreements focused on cooperation in the domains of science, technology, and innovation.
Additionally, a significant letter of agreement was formalized and exchanged between the National Development and Research Council of China and Nepal’s National Planning Commission.
