KATHMANDU: IME Motors has been appointed as the official distributor for Switch Mobility electric vehicles and Ashok Leyland diesel generators in Nepal.
As part of the 75th-anniversary celebration of Ashok Leyland, a special agreement was signed during a commemorative event held in Chennai, India. The agreement was sealed by Mahesh Babu, Chief Executive Officer of Switch Mobility, and Hemant Puranik, CEO of IME Motors. Dheeraj Hinduja, Chairman of Ashok Leyland, was also present during the signing ceremony.
Switch Mobility, a subsidiary of the Indian automotive company Ashok Leyland, focuses on developing environmentally friendly electric vehicles for public transportation and light commercial use, contributing to eco-friendly urban mobility solutions. The production and distribution of environmentally friendly buses and light commercial vehicles will be initiated through this partnership.
Switch Mobility was established as a subsidiary company of Ashok Leyland in 2020.
During the 75th-anniversary event of Ashok Leyland, Indian Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated the launch of electric light commercial vehicles produced by Switch Mobility. Additionally, IME Motors was designated as the official distributor for Ashok Leyland diesel generators.
