KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security has clarified that there is no agreement with South Korea to send seasonal workers. The process of sending Nepali workers to South Korea, known as the Employment Permit System (EPS), is the only agreement currently in effect.
This clarification comes after false information about sending seasonal workers to South Korea was circulated on social media with the signature of Labor Spokesperson Danduraj Ghimire.
The Ministry has urged everyone to refrain from spreading unnecessary confusion by disseminating false press releases on foreign employment-related matters without official authorization.
“Any activities contrary to existing laws and regulations will be controlled, and the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security requests all concerned parties to engage in the process of sending foreign workers only after ensuring the authenticity of the process,” stated a press release issued by the Ministry on Wednesday.
The Ministry has also initiated an investigation and legal action against individuals involved in misusing the letterhead with the signature of Secretary Danduraj Ghimire to create misinformation and confusion.
