KATHMANDU, MAY 23: A heritage tour bus service has begun in Kathmandu as of Tuesday with the intention of promoting the main heritage areas in the Kathmandu Valley.
The “Sampda Tour Bus Service” was launched on Tuesday by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation in conjunction with the Lalitpur metropolis and Saja Yatayat. The bus service will make it simple to visit the places listed as a World Heritage Site, including Patan Durbar square, Kathmandu Durbar square, the Narayanhiti Palace Museum, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath, and Swayambhu temples.
The bus service from Lalitpur was introduced by the mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City and minister of tourism Sudan Kirati.
Minister Kirati, who officially opened the bus service, stated that it is anticipated that the operation of this bus service will promote the important heritage areas in the Kathmandu Valley. He claimed that this was only a modest effort to boost tourism in the valley and that the service would be expanded after it had been tested. The heritage bus carried Tourism Minister Kirati as well from Pulchowk to Narayanhiti Palace Museum.
Sampada Ghumti Bus Service will be beneficial for promoting tourism, according to Lalitpur Metropolitan City’s Mayor Chiribabu Maharjan. The coordination and cooperation of everyone should be used to make it successful, he added.
Two electric buses will run every day on the Sampada Ghumti bus route, according to Sushil Pyakurel, executive chairman of Sajha Yatayat. If it is successful, additional buses will be added.
The bus service is currently free for the general public, according to an NTB official. The cost of the bus service has not yet been determined, so it is currently free. Working rules are being developed right now,” he said.
