Chandra Dhakal becomes the President of FNCCI, five priority tasks

KATHMANDU: Chandra Prasad Dhakal has been elected as the President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry. He was elected as the 20th President of the FNCCI through the 57th General Assembly held today, according to the provisions of the Constitution of the private sector umbrella body.

President Shekhar Golcha served as Dhakal’s witness as he took the oath of office and secrecy. The newly elected President Dhakal declared following the oath of office that his persistent efforts to forge consensus had finally been successful.

He stated that Umesh Lal Shrestha and the former presidents have a significant role to play in this and expressed his confidence that the federation’s reputation will be improved in the days to come as the president.

In his first term as the newly elected president of the federation, Dhakal will concentrate on five issues: first, developing a plan to address the current economic crisis; second, fostering an environment for investment; third, enhancing the relationship between the public and private sectors; fourth, developing skilled labor and creating jobs; and fifth, boosting the spirits of businessmen by prioritizing the work of determining the future of the country.

The newly elected president, Dhakal, is a first-generation successful entrepreneur and businessman. Dhakal, who has served on the Federation’s Executive Committee for two terms, has held the positions of Associate Vice President, Senior Vice President, Chairman of the Employers Council, and Investment Committee.
