NTA directed Smart Telecom not to halt service operations

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Telecommunication Authority has given Smart Telecom instructions to improve the service’s effectiveness.

On Tuesday, Telecommunication issued a notice and ordered to start the services of Smart after discovering that it was not functioning in some areas of the nation.

Since the telecommunications service is deemed to be an essential service, the authority ruled that it cannot be terminated until the license has been reinstated.

The license for Smart will expire on April 15, but the company has suspended operations in some areas of the nation.
