KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority has disclosed the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) of the river-based (run-of-river) hydropower project.
The authority has invited the promoters to contact for PPA within 15 days by publishing the information on Thursday.
The meeting of the board of directors held on 26th of January of the Authority had decided to open the PPA.
In the meeting held on June 24, the Council of Ministers decided to change the energy integration policy by reducing the quota of 10 percent reservoir-based projects and adding it to river flow-based projects.
Accordingly, the authority has opened the PPA. It is going to increase the limit from 35 percent (5250 MW) to 10 percent (1500 MW) for river flow projects.
It is mentioned that until 45 percent (6750 MW) is reached, PPA will be continued on the basis of grid connection agreement roll order, including all provisions of PPA.
