KATHMANDU: It has been decided that the bill to amend some laws related to money laundering will be moved forward on a fast track basis.
A meeting of the National Review Council on Money Laundering held at the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday decided to fast track the bill made to amend some laws related to prevention of money laundering and promotion of business environment.
In the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel said that the draft bill will be submitted to the Council of Ministers by next Sunday and the Council of Ministers will send it to the Federal Parliament through fast track.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Paudel also informed Republica that the government will pay attention to the effective implementation of the provisions related to money laundering so that the image of Nepal will not be damaged internationally.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan, Chief Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi, Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Maha Prasad Adhikari and secretaries of various ministries were also present in the meeting.
