KATHMANDU: The government team including Chief Secretary of Nepal Government Shankardas Bairagi, Industry Secretary Toynarayan Gyawali, Director General of Industry Department Ramchandra Tiwari inspected Lumbini Cable Car on site and took information about the construction on Saturday.
During the inspection, Chief Secretary Bairagi inquired about the economic and social impact in the region after the operation of the cable car.
He also expressed his belief that this cable car project will further help the development of Nepal’s tourism sector and urged the project to be implemented as soon as possible.
On that occasion, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of Lumbini Cable Car Pvt Ltd informed about the progress of the cable car construction and informed that the cable car will be operational within the next two and half months.
He said that almost 90 percent of the work on cable car has been completed, but it will take some time for the work of the resort and other infrastructure.
“After two and a half months, the cable car will be operational. But it will take some time to complete the construction of the restaurant and resort and other infrastructures being built at the bottom and top stations. You can take the cable car to Basantpur Hill in Palpa and visit the temple there, and enjoy the view from the Himalayas to the Terai.”
The company believes that this resort with cable car will become a new tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists visiting Lumbini and Indian tourists from Nepal’s border area.
