KATHMANDU: The government has suspended paragliding flights across the country indefinitely after a paragliding accident occurred during the National Games in Pokhara’s Sarangkot on Sunday.
Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has decided to suspended all types of paragliding flights throughout the country until further arrangements are made, said Jagannath Niraula, the spokesperson of the authority.
“Until further arrangements are made, it has been decided to stop all types of recreational, commercial and sports paragliding flights across the country,” he said.
A paragliding accident occurred during the National Games at Sarangkot in Pokhara on Sunday afternoon. In the process, one player died. Along with this, the authority has decided to suspended paragliding flights across the country.
According to him, now the authority is going to study about flight safety, laws and regulations to maintain the safety and security of the paragliding. That is why it has been decided to halt all flights for the time being, he informed.
