Bus tickets for Dasain will open from September 17

KATHMANDU: Bus tickets will be open for Dasain from September 17. This agreement was reached in a discussion held on Wednesday between the President of the National Federation of Transport Professionals, Vijay Bahadur Swaran, Director General of Transport Management Department, Traffic Police and Road Department.

Swaran, president of the association, said that it was decided to open bus tickets from September 17 for the festival seasons.

He took this proposal saying that it would be better if the bus tickets are opened from September 17. The conditions of the roads will also be easy to maintain at this time. We have taken this decision because there is a possibility that the rain will fall only till the mid of September,’ he said.

According to him, some additions have been made on the route with less vehicles. “Due to the implementation of the automatic system, fares will not increase this year during Dasain,” he said.

It has been decided to completely discourage the act of selling tickets from unauthorized counters and people without identity cards and to repair the main road and send a request to the relevant authorities to facilitate traffic operations.

Swaran said that in order to facilitate the movement of traffic, it has been decided to prohibit the operation of large vehicles, including trailers, except for the transportation of food and other essential items, from October 1 -8 from Narayangarh to Kathmandu.
