KATHMANDU: CPN Maoist Center leader Janardan Sharma has been appointed as Finance Minister. Spokesman of the President’s Office Sagar Acharya informed that President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has appointed him as the Finance Minister on the recommendation of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
The then finance minister Sharma had resigned earlier after a parliamentary inquiry committee was formed on allegations of involvement of unauthorized persons in the preparation of the budget. Prime Minister Deuba has again given him the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance after the Parliamentary committee reported that no evidence was found that unauthorized persons were involved in the preparation of the budget.
