KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has sold electricity to India worth Rs 1.72 billion in June.
As per NEA, it sold power to India worth the aforementioned amount since it started started selling surplus electricity to the Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) on June 2. NEA has sold electricity generated from 24-MW Trishuli, 15-MW Devighat hydropower project to Indian market.
“177,191,000 units of electricity has been sold in India in the month of June at an average rate of Rs 9.67 per unit earning Rs 1.72 billion after all charges,” as per NEA.
