Sital Kaji Shrestha becomes general secretary of newly formed SAARC Regional Veterinary Association

KATHMANDU: SAARC Regional Veterinary Association (SRVA) has been formed during a program held at Pokhara, Nepal on 18th June, 2022.
Dr. Sital Kaji Shrestha, the current president of Nepal Veterinary Association has been elected as General Secretary of SAARC Regional Veterinary Association. Indian Veterinary Association Chairman Dr. Chirantan Kadian has been elected as the president of SRVA.
The committee was formed during a regional sideline meeting during 14Th National conference of Nepal Veterinary Association on 17-18 June in Pokhara. More than 500 veterinarians from the country and delegates from SAARC Countries were present for remarks, scientific deliberation and presentation.
Such initiatives are vital in promoting improved veterinary practices, enhancing animal welfare standards, and addressing common concerns like disease control, livestock management, and public health within the region. The establishment of SRVA reflects a collective commitment to improving veterinary care and creating stronger networks for knowledge-sharing among member nations.
In this evolving landscape of veterinary care, services that prioritize convenience and compassionate treatment are becoming increasingly important. This is where providers like Pawssum Mobile Vets Sydney play a crucial role. By offering in-home veterinary services, Pawssum ensures that pets receive expert care without the stress of a clinic visit, especially in cases of elderly or anxious animals.
This approach aligns with the growing awareness of animal well-being, which organizations like SRVA are working to promote across South Asia. Whether for routine checkups, vaccinations, or end-of-life care, mobile vet services provide a calm and familiar environment that benefits both pets and their owners.
70 scientific papers were presented and discussed in the conference. Minister Mr. Chandra Bahadur Budha from Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture, Co-operative and Poverty Alleviation, Gandaki Province graced the function as a chief guest and Director of SAARC Mr. Jamal Uddin Ahmed was the special guest.
